  The woman decided she would obey God rather than men. In the Bible, a marriage is a union of one man and one woman.

  She did the right thing and resigned.

  The people of New York were denied the right to vote to change the definiton of marriage.

  Your God, your holy scriptures. I defy them both. In fact, let me be a bit more subtle.

  I wipe, my filthy, diarrhea stained buttocks on Jehovah's pristine white beard for His afterthoughts on marriage:

  • Women got their hands cut off for defending their husbands. (Deuteronomy 25:11,12)
  • They executed the victim of rape if she was engaged to be married. (Deuteronomy 22:23,24)
  • They forced the victim of rape to marry her rapist if she was single. (Deuteronomy 22:28,29)
  • One tribe was allowed to capture women from another tribe as forced brides. (Judges 21:10-24)
  • A man could sell his daughter into slavery. (Exodus 21:7-11)

  Marriage is validated by human beings not demonic gods.

  my mother-in-law was hounding my husband the other day about our spiritual standing.

  conversation led to "the light gets brighter".

  he said if that is the case then maybe the light gets brighter for other religions as well.

  Was there anything different about you that helped you escape the WT?

  for me i know it was because i was a reader.. i began reading books at the age of 13, this was in the 1950's.

  because there were some serious family problems i had two escapes i could count on reading and associating with my friends at the kingdom hall.. as i devoured steinbeck, hemingway, wolf etc.

  my world view expanded....it had to.

  it is so draining for me to constantly read threads by atheists that assert that those of who are uncertain or have faith have irrational minds.

  god can not be proven or unproven.

  As an atheist I really don't care if you believe in fairies. It's when those ferries start whispering in the ears of the believer, "Psssst, that guy over there is spiritually crippled or maybe evil because he doesn't believe in us", that I really get pissed.

  this is a partial video of the morning breakfast table in brooklyn bethel in the late 80s, with lyman swingle hosting... the governing body member who at first tried to shelter ray franz from disfellowshipping, but then within a year or two his spirit was broken and he was a bitter man.. randy (i was there and it was death-dealing, like the death eaters from harry potter!).
